Community Support Program

The purpose of the Community Support Program (CSP) is to assist individuals who have long-term mental health problems to live as successfully and independently as possible in their own communities. These services are those services that are supportive in nature and not necessarily treatment oriented.

This program works collaboratively with county social service agencies to improve the ability of adults with serious and persistent mental illness to:

  1. Work in a regular or supported work environment
  2. Handle basic activities of daily living
  3. Participate in social and leisure time activities
  4. Set goals and plans
  5. Obtain and maintain appropriate living arrangements
  6. Attaining and maintain health insurance benefits
  7. Assisting with job applications
  8. Educating about mental illness, treatment and recovery


  1. Individuals who have experienced serous and persistent mental health problems
  2. Individuals who would benefit from CSP services and who meet eligibility requirements
  3. Residents of Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Redwood or Yellow Medicine Counties.
